Vodafone Cook Islands Launches Mobile Money Transfer Service to Samoa and Vanuatu via E-Moni
Vodafone Cook Islands is pleased to announce the expansion of its E-Moni mobile money service, now enabling international mobile money transfers from the Cook Islands to Samoa and Vanuatu.
Vodafone customers in Rarotonga and the Pa Enua can now send money directly to M-TALA in Samoa and M-VATU in Vanuatu, using their mobile devices through the E-Moni app.
This marks a significant development for E-Moni, which launched mobile money transfers to Fiji in April this year - offering a fast, safe, and cost-effective solution for sending funds across the Pacific.
This mobile technology allows users to convert electronic value (e-value) into currency, facilitating easy transactions including; deposits, withdrawals, sending funds, mobile top-ups, and bill payments.
“We are excited to extend our mobile money service from the Cook Islands to the wider Pacific, making it easier and more efficient for our customers to send funds to Vanuatu and Samoa. E-Moni provides a fast, secure, and convenient way to manage finances, addressing the need for an affordable and reliable solution for local and international money transfers,” says Phillip Henderson CEO, Vodafone Cook Islands.
The launch of international mobile money transfers from the Cook Islands to Samoa and Vanuatu is part of a broader initiative to connect Pacific Island nations through mobile financial services.
Vodafone's collaboration with mHITs Limited has facilitated this cross-border remittance service, further integrating regional mobile money platforms.
"We are excited to expand our international money transfer capabilities to Samoa and Vanuatu, building on the success of our service with Fiji. This is another step towards making remittances faster, more accessible, and affordable for our customers across the Pacific," said Henderson.
How to Register and Use E-Moni
Vodafone customers can register for the E-Moni service for free by visiting any Vodafone office in the Cook Islands and providing a photo ID.
Once registered, users will receive a confirmation text with an activation key and can download the E-Moni app to get started.
To start using the service, customers simply need to make a deposit into their E-Moni account at any Vodafone office or via ‘Billpay’ option with BSP.
